K Dogg’s Quick Movie Review

Here’s a short review of a recent movie I've seen.

Movie: Dog Day Afternoon

Starring: Al Pacino, John Cazale

Co-starring:

Rated R

Time: approx. 124 min.

Al Pacino and John Cazale (the guy who played Freddie in Godfather movies) are two guys who decide to rob a bank. Of course, things don't go quite as planned for these two and this simple plan turns into a hostage situation with the police. This movie is based on a true story. I have no idea how close this movie sticks with the facts of the actual event, but it is an interesting story. This movie was also nominated for several Academy Awards. The most interesting parts are how Al Pacino's character gets backing from the crowds outside watching the events unfold and almost becomes a hero of the people also the reasons revealed as to why these two decided to rob the bank. This movie also inspired Kevin Nash's chants of "Attica" when he would get hauled off to jail back in his original nWo days. All in all, this is a pretty decent movie. I wouldn't recommend renting it necessarily, but catching it on one of its multiple showings on TNT might be worthwhile.
