K Dogg’s Quick Movie Review

Here’s a short review of a recent movie I've seen.

Movie: Dumb and Dumberer: When Harry Met Lloyd

This movie is the prequel to the very funny Jim Carrey movie Dumb and Dumber. In this installment, Lloyd is played by not Jim Carrey, but Eric Christian Olsen, former Bettendorf High School student Class of 1995. As the subtitle implies, this is the story of how Lloyd and Harry met and become friends. The movie starts out with Harry, who had been homeschooled up to this point, goes to public school for the first time. There he bumps into and becomes friends with Lloyd. Eugene Levy plays the principal of the school and he has a little problem in that he likes to pocket some of the school's funds. Levy's character comes up with a plan to steal some big time grant money by creating a bogus special needs class. He enrolls Lloyd's and Harry's help to recruit some other students to be in this special class. This movie is like Dumb and Dumber, except that this movie is not funny. Surprisingly, the funniest part belongs to Bob Saget, I know I couldn't believe it either. I watched this movie using the Starz On Demand and pretty much only watched it to support my fellow BHS alumnus. Though I suppose it isn't much in the support department since I didn't pay to see it, but what can you do? Other than the BHS influence, I wouldn't recommend this movie.
