K Dogg’s Quick Movie Review

Here’s a short review of a recent movie I've seen.

Movie: Envy

Ben Stiller and Jack Black play neighbors, Tim Dingman and Nick Vanderpark, who are best friends that do everything together including work. Nick is always coming up with crazy ideas for inventions and asking his buddy Tim if he wants to invest in them. Of course Tim always turns him down since the ideas are off the wall. However, one of the ideas Nick comes up with for creating a spray that causes dog poop to disappear turns into a blockbuster and he becomes extremely rich. Nick starts living the good life and this drives Tim crazy because it is such a stupid product and he could have gotten in on the ground floor. Christopher Walken plays a bum named the J-Man who Tim meets in a bar when he (Tim) is at his lowest feeling sorry for himself. The J-Man kind of takes Tim under his wing a bit and helps him out. All in all this movie isn't very funny. It stars some pretty good people. I think Ben Stiller is very funny and I think Jack Black makes a pretty good sidekick. Christopher Walken is always funny. I thought this movie had all of the ingredients. Jack Black didn't have to try to carry a movie by himself which he can't do all by himself and you got Ben Stiller and Christopher Walken, but somehow they managed to still put out a movie that just isn't funny. The only redeeming part of the movie is Christopher Walken's role as the J-Man, he is quite funny, but not enough to make the movie funny. Overall, I would say to stay away from this movie.
