Here’s a short review of a movie I have recently seen.
Movie: Great Expectations
This movie is alright. It's a adaptation of the book by Charles Dickens. This movie is about a poor kid in Florida, played by Hawke, who is hired to play with a rich woman's niece, played by Paltrow. Throughout the years, he ends up falling in love with the niece. However, she has been brought up to distrust men, so she basically teases him. Hawke's character believes he needs to become rich and successful to get her to love him, so he heads to New York to sell art. I won't tell anymore as to not spoil the ending. Overall, I thought this movie was okay, but it does get kind of boring. De Niro is cool as always in his somewhat minor role. I don't think I would pay money to see this unless I was on a date or something. I would watch it though if it's on HBO or other television channel.
