K Dogg’s Quick Movie Review

Here’s a short review of a recent movie I've seen.

 

 

Movie: Hero

 

In this movie, Jet Li plays the Nameless Warrior during the times before China was one large country, but a bunch of warring states. The Nameless Warrior is called in by the Emperor who is starting to take over and trying to unite all of the states. The Nameless Warrior takes out three of the Emperor's biggest enemies and the Emperor wants to thank the Nameless Warrior and hear the stories of the warrior's battles. It turns out that the Nameless Warrior may have another motive for wanting to be near the emperor. This is a martial arts/kung fu type movie. I'm guessing it is the style of that Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon movie. I'm not sure since I've never seen that movie. I thought this movie was somewhat entertaining. I thought the actions scenes were pretty good. I found some of the special effects were annoying. I dislike it when they make people fly that aren't superheroes. Though somewhat entertaining, I wouldn't recommend renting this movie unless you're highly into the martial arts/kung fu movies. I would stick with a classic like The Karate Kid, or some old Segal flicks.
