K Dogg’s Quick Movie Review

Here’s a short review of a recent movie I’ve seen.

Movie: The Hulk

Starring: Eric Bana, Jennifer Connelly, Sam Elliott, Nick Nolte

Co-starring:

Rated PG-13

Time: approx. 130 min.

Well this is the big summer blockbuster production the classic comic book character. Eric Bana plays the role Bruce Banner a scientist and son of another scientist David Banner (Nick Nolte). David Banner is working on research in regeneration of tissue of the body for the government. The government shuts down his research and tell him that he can't test on humans. So he decides to inject himself and his small son. Fast forward a couple decades later, Bruce Banner is working on similar research when he accidently gets radiated with large amounts of gamma-radiation. It turns out that the gamma-radiation activated a mutation in Bruce to cause him to turn into the Hulk when he becomes angry. The Hulk goes on a bit of a rampage in San Fancisco. The movie was very disappointing. Well I guess I can't say I was disappointed because I was expecting it to be bad. The Hulk is completely computer generated. It is an extremely slow moving movie. Nothing happens approximately the first hour of the movie. I kept thinking to myself, while watching this movie, would something just freakin' happen already. Turn into the stupid Hulk now. The end of the movie is really weird as well. In the old tv show, the Hulk was a big guy, but he wasn't that much bigger than a normal person. In this movie, he is 9- to 15-feet tall depending on how angry he gets. Amazingly, even though he is 15-feet tall, Bruce Banner's pants still manage to fit on his waist. There was a cameo by Stan Lee and Lou Ferrigno in the movie. All in all, I thought this was a pretty crappy movie. I think this was the worst comic book adaptation that I can remember. I don't think it is worth watching in the theatres. I hoping T3 will be a better summer blockbuster.
