K Dogg’s Quick Movie Review

Here’s a short review of a recent movie I’ve seen.

Movie: The Island of Dr. Moreau

David Thewlis plays an UN Diplomat who is stranded in the ocean after his plane crashes. He is picked up by a scientist's (Val Kilmer) boat and taken to Dr. Moreau's (Marlon Brando) island. Here he finds that Dr. Moreau is conducting experiments to try to create a perfect society by splicing animal and human genes. The creatures that are created get out of control. This movie is based on the book by H.G. Wells. I thought this was a pretty weird movie. I figured it was going to be decent since it has Val Kilmer and Marlon Brando, both of whom I like, but it wasn't that good. It was pretty cool that Dr. Moreau had a midgit sidekick that dressed like him and played a midgit piano that was sitting on Dr. Moreau's piano. I think that scene might have inspired Kid Rock to bring Joe C on board. The special effects are not that good. The creatures just look like guys in animal suits. I don't thik this movie is worth watching all that much.
