K Dogg’s Quick Movie Review

Here’s a short review of a recent movie I've seen.

Movie: Kill Bill Volume 1

In this Quentin Taratino film, Uma Thurman plays the lead role of a woman who is on a mission to kill Bill. Uma's character survives being shot in the head on her wedding day. Now out of the hospital, she is determined to seek her revenge on everyone that was involved in the murder plot. This movie leaves you hanging since it was originally meant to be just one long movie, but apparently the movie studio decided it would be better to break it up into two shorter movies. I thought this movie was pretty entertaining. It is not often you see a female lead in an action movie. This movie has a Taratino feel to it with lots of flashbacks and jumping around in time. It also had a 70s kung fu movie flava to it. In an interesting choice, this movie also incoporates some Japanese-style animation in it. I don't think this movie will be for everyone since there is quite a bit of violence in it. However, the violence is so over-the-top that it is almost comic book like and ultimately pretty comical. Other people may be upset that lots of the story is not explained in this first volume thus making you have to see the second volume for some closure. All in all, I think this is an entertaining action movie and worth renting. Also, I will have to see the second volume.
