K Dogg’s Quick Movie Review
Here’s a short review of a recent movie I've seen.

Movie: Matchstick Men
Nicolas Cage and Sam Rockwell play a team of con artists. They're looking to put over a big score on a mark played by Bruce McGill. Cage's character, Roy, has a few issues. He has obsessive compulsive disorder, so he has some weird little rituals that keeps him separated from the rest of the world. He also has a lot of facials ticks which obviously bother him. Roy discovers that he has a 14 year old daughter from his exwife. He makes contact with her and they end up starting to develop a relationship. His daughter ends up convincing Roy to let her into some of the secrets of his business and she ends up being involved in Roy and his partner's big con job. I was a little confused by this movie. I thought going into this movie that it was supposed to be a comedy. It turns out that even though it has some comedic attributes, it's not really a comedy. I thought this movie wasn't that great. Nicolas Cage does a good job doing all of the little ticks and stuff. I did think the ending was pretty good. The dvd extras about the production of this movie were fairly interesting and I thought pretty technical. I think this movie should have been more of a comedy. There is nothing special about this movie, so I wouldn't rush out to rent it.
