K Dogg’s Quick Movie Review

Here’s a short review of a recent movie I’ve seen.

Movie: Runaway Jury

Starring: John Cusack, Gene Hackman, Dustin Hoffman, Rachel Weisz, Jennifer Beals

Co-starring:

Rated PG-13

Time: approx. 127 min.

John Cusack plays Nick Easter who is selected to be a jury member for a landmark legal case involving a murder victim's family's suit against the big gun companies. Dustin Hoffman portrays the prosecuting attorney and Gene Hackman's character is the jury consultant for the defense. Hackman's character's job is to help the defense pick jury members that will be favorable to their side and also to potentially "influence" the jurors to rule the defenses way. Well it turns out that he will do anything to get this done. This includes digging into the jurors personal lives to blackmail them. Good old Nick Easter has other plans. He is trying to work from the inside and sway the jury to either side based on who will pay him the most cash. I thought this was a very good movie. It has some big name actors and they all do and outstanding job. There are a couple of twists throughout the movie that keep it interesting. I think this movie is worth checking out in the theatres or renting.
