K Dogg’s Quick Movie Review

Here’s a short review of a recent movie I've seen.

Movie: Seabiscuit

This movie is set in the depression era when horse racing was one of the top three sports, along with baseball and boxing, in the United States. Jeff Bridges plays Charles Howard, a bicycle repairman who was one of the first to sell cars in the western U.S. He decides that he wants to buy a race horse. He ends up going for a complete underdog team. He choses a horse (Seabiscuit), trainer (Chris Cooper), and jockey (Tobey Maguire) that no one else wants. His horse is supposed to be too small, and his jockey too big. This movie kind of turns into a Rocky story in that no one thinks they can win and they come out of no where to shock the world and win some races. Also like Rocky, Seabiscuit has to learn a new style when he takes on the champion. I thought this was a pretty good movie. It takes a bit before there is any racing in the movie, but once it starts, it's pretty enjoyable. I think this movie is worth watching.
