K Dogg’s Quick Movie Review

Here’s a short review of a recent movie I've seen.

Movie: The Treasure of the Sierra Madre

In this 1948 black and white movie, Humphrey Bogart plays Fred C. Dobbs, a drifter down in Mexico. Dobbs and his friend Curtin meet up with an oldtimer named Howard and decide to go prospecting for gold. During their search for gold they run into all kinds of problems including bandits, other prospectors trying to move in on their ground, and worse problem, paranoia thinking that each other in their own team is trying to take all the gold for himself. Humphrey Bogart does a pretty good job of playing the maniacal paranoid member of the group including having a sweet crazy laugh. This movie is the movie that made the line famous: Badges, we don't need no stinking badges. Actually, it's not exactly that wording, but that's what everyone knows. Anyway, I thought this movie was pretty entertaining. I love the old school dialogue. This movie won the Academy Awards for Best Director and Best Supporting Actor. I would say this movie is worth renting for a dollar if you like the classic films. It would also be worth checking out on AMC or TMC if it's on.
