K Dogg’s Quick Movie Review

Here’s a short review of a recent movie I’ve seen.

Movie: Spider-Man

Starring: Tobey Maguire, Willem Dafoe

Co-starring: Randy "Macho Man" Savage

Rated PG-13

Time: approx.120 min.

This is the high-budget film adaptation of the comicbook. Tobey Maguire is in the lead as Peter Parker, a high school student who is given extraordinary powers when he is bitten by a genetically-enhanced spider during a school trip. With these new powers, Peter Parker creates the superhero Spider-Man. Willem Dafoe plays the vilian in this movie. His character is a scientist who is working on human physical enhancement, but is fired due to new management and business politics. He runs the experiment on himself before he has to leave. The results were superpowers and insanity. This is a pretty sweet movie. It starts out a little slow, but picks up very well. The special effects are very cool even though they threw in some of those damn effects from The Matrix that seem to be mandatory in even action movie these days. Overall, I thought this was a very good movie and I'm sure it will turn into a huge summer blockbuster, competing with the new Star Wars movie for this summer's biggest movie. I would say one should see this movie in the theatres.
