K Dogg’s Quick Movie Review

Here’s a short review of a recent movie I’ve seen.

Movie: Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines

This is the third installment of the Terminator trilogy. This movie takes place about 10 years after the second movie. Apparently, they didn't completely change the future like the had thought in the second movie. Skynet still figures out it can take over and terminators still happen in the future. The new super-duper terminator is a chick that does the liquid metal thing like the second terminator, but she has a few more toys. For instance, she can control other machines and she can turn her hand into guns. Her mission is to kill John Conner and his lieutenants of the future resistance. Luckily, the an older model terminator, i.e. Arnold, is also sent back to battle the new terminator to protect John Conner. I thought this movie was pretty good. There is action, action, and more action. All kinds of guns and all kinds of crap blowing up. Back to the basics action flick. The plot wasn't anything new, but who cares? The special effects were pretty nifty. This movie definitely had more comedy one-liners then the other two movies. I was surprised how short it was in length. I think the time I estimated of 1 hour 45 minutes was a bit generous. This movie ditched James Cameron, the director of the first two movies, and Linda Hamilton, who played Sarah Conner. This movie was no where as cool as the first movie, but definitely worth seeing. I would also suggest seeing on the big screen with the big theatre sound.
