K Dogg’s Quick Movie Review

Here’s a short review of a recent movie I’ve seen.

Movie: The Last Castle

Time: approx. 120 min.

Robert Redford plays a high-ranking military officer, a 3-star general I believe, who is sent to a military prison to serve time for his crimes. He gets on the bad side of the warden, played by the guy from The Sopranos, right off the bat. Like every other prison movie, the warden is power-hungary, abusive, insane, basically pure evil and prisoners are just misunderstood and lack direction. Redford's character gets sick of the abuse received by the inmates, so he leads a revolt to take over the prison in hopes to get the warden replaced. This was a very similar to other movies like The Shawshank Redemption and Cool Hand Luke. This movie includes a scene which straight out of Cool Hand Luke with a little twist. This movie is okay. It offers nothing special. It wouldn't be a total waste of time to watch it, but the other movies I mentioned are much better movies.
